Talk:Queen Beryl

Question... who voiced Super Beryl (the Metalia'd-up Beryl from Episode 46)? Was it Han or Uemura (or possibly even some combination of the two)? I can't currently play my Classic DVDs to compare the voices. I have it down as being Han on my site but I can't remember how I reached that conclusion... Dooky 23:46, 24 June 2006 (MST)

If I am correct (and im sure i am) it was Keiko Han with no voice alterations. I remember that it was the same in the english dub, just Naz Edwards, no Maria Vacratiz (or whatever her name was)and i remember this because it confused so many people, anyway bottom line is that it was Keiko Han, and I know because Ive watched the last two episodes of season one several times recently Sailor-Star-Lover 14:52, 12 August 2010 (MST)

Did anyone ever see the omake on the classic season LD where Mitsuishi Kotono goes to one of the shitenno seiyuu's houses for a BBQ with all four of them? All of them say, "Kuin Beriru," in a row to see who can pronounce it the best. It's thoroughly amusing and has nothing to do with anything yet I post about it here anyway.--WikiSysop 03:20, 28 July 2006 (MST)

I don't recall it saying in the manga that Beryl was an explorer in her reborn life and found Queen Metalia while on a trek to D-Point. Should this really be stated on the page with no proof?--Chains of Fate 20:21, 12 February 2008 (MST)

I don't know that she was an "explorer" as such, but according to Act 7 she stumbled upon the ruins of the Dark Kingdom in the Arctic Circle "as though they called to her" and unsealed Metalia there. Not sure what she would have been doing in the Arctic Circle if she wasn't an explorer, but. Kerochan no Miko 21:18, 12 February 2008 (MST)
If Metalia called her to D-Point she wouldn't have necessarily needed to be an explorer. Most people would require more than a voice calling them to go probably halfway around the world to the coldest point on Earth, but still, there's no evidence that she was an explorer. For all we know she was born somewhere near the D-Point or leading some kind of scientific expedition. --Chains of Fate 17:53, 13 February 2008 (MST)
As I already changed the paragraph to remove the statement saying that Beryl was an explorer, I'm not sure why you're still arguing this. Kerochan no Miko 19:58, 13 February 2008 (MST)

"Sage" Beryl?[edit]

I heard a rumor that before being corrupted by Chaos, Beryl was known as "Sage Beryl". A lot of unfounded rumors circulate about Sailor Moon, but this one sounds... not ludicrous enough to be true. I didn't want to just add that without getting confirmation that it's true, though. It doesn't really bother me if it's not in the article since I totally don't have any proof at all, but I wanted to bring it to your attention. danny{SL} 04:03, 18 July 2009 (MST)

I've never heard that one before, and a google search gives me...well, a couple of fanfics and people referring to "the sage, Beryl" which isn't the same thing. I also don't see any references in the manga or the Materials Collection or any of my other usual sources. Unless someone can find a canon reference I'm going to say it's fanon. Kerochan no Miko 09:14, 18 July 2009 (MST)
The Sage term was from Another Story, though it doesn't apply to other canons. Maetch 10:06, 30 April 2011 (MST)

can we get a good picture of Queen Beryl from the anime, and one for PGSM please. it looks to empty without them. Thanks Sailor-Star-Lover 15:44, 12 August 2010 (MST)

Okay i got the anime pic, but now its WAAAAY to big. Can someone deal with it, but i think thats one of the better pics of her from the anime, but whatever. thanks Sailor-Star-Lover 16:11, 12 August 2010 (MST)

Proof: [1], Says clearly: protecting you he fell. I might have the French manga but the text is same in both translation and I checked my references before making that edit. Could I please ask that you do the same in the future, do you just know how annoying it is to you edits revert back for no reasons like this??? -- Sailorsimon, September 11, 2010

Now that you have provided some evidence, yes, it says that Endymion fell while protecting Serenity. Where does it say that Queen Beryl attacked Serenity and Endymion stepped in front of her and took the blow instead? From that image you presented, it's entirely possible Metaria killed him, for instance.
If you would care to discuss this in a rational fashion, presenting your evidence (noting act numbers, please), feel free to do so. The way you are acting, however, is not conducive to discussion and I cannot talk to you when you're slinging accusations. Kerochan no Miko 16:49, 12 September 2010 (MST)
First of all, you said to me and I quote: It doesn't say that. Why did you write this when you weren't even sure it was the truth, which it wasn't by the way? Why didn't you checked before removing my edit. Secondly we can see in this shot that it’s Beryl’s sword that kills Endymion which is exactly what the article said before I edited it and you agreed to that since you didn't edit or remove that part of the article. Why then would you say: it's entirely possible Metaria killed him, for instance. if not solely to contradict me? FYI its Metalia not Metaria.
- Endymion died protecting Serenity from a blast
- That blast was caused by Beryl’s sword, Venus says it herself here: [2]
I checked all of them before making my statment in the article. About you?-- Sailorsimon, September 12, 2010
Sailorsimon, please confine this discussion to the facts of the article rather than me.
The Mixx manga is not a reliable source, considering how many alterations and bad translations there are in it. Alex Glover's translation has Minako saying "What she did then... to the princess and Prince Endymion!" Did she kill them? Did she cause the events that killed them? It's not that specific. Basically, I don't see anything wrong with that part of the article as it currently stands. Kerochan no Miko 21:49, 12 September 2010 (MST)
I am not fallowing you, what is you point? the article says she herself was the one who killed Prince Endymion and I though that's what you are debating wheter or not she actually killed him. I do not contest that she kill him, not at all, that part is fine with me but (and i'm refering to both translation (mixx manga and my french manga which is a reliable source and they both bassically say the same thing: its by protecting Serenity that Endymion was killed, how much more clear can that be? Do I need to draw a picture? I really don't understand your point, you say the article is fine and yet you say that its not clear that Beryl kill them while the article says exactly that
My point is: He died by trying to protect her.-- Sailorsimon, September 13, 2010
My point is: that is your opinion and thus far, unsubstantiated by any valid canon source. (Mixx manga and the French manga are translations and the original is the only real source that can be used as proof.) Feel free to provide one. Kerochan no Miko 22:36, 12 September 2010 (MST)
Stop saying its my opinion, its written black on white. You gave me the excuse that this are translations, yet you yourself used Alex Glover's translation as backup. So what its okay for you but its not okay for me? why are you being so stubborn? You seemed to agree with me on that matter but to disagree about wheter Beryl kill them ore not. The article says she did and so, fallowing your logic since we're not sure we should remove that statment. BTW Alex Glover's translation also says: protecting you he fell so what now all three are wrong, even the one you use to back you up. Saying : she herself was the one who killed Prince Endymion that's an opinion. -- Sailorsimon, September 13, 2010
The point isn't that Beryl killed him; that was in the article long before you began editing it. The discussion is about the edit that you keep trying to make, that she was trying to kill Serenity and he took the blow for her. This is still your opinion and nowhere stated in black and white. If you don't have anything else to contribute to this discussion, it's over. Kerochan no Miko 23:02, 12 September 2010 (MST)

I admit I was being rude but please don't just shut me down because you feel like it, I'm like a child in the dark, I'm just trying to make sense of what you told me, you told me: Did she kill them? Did she cause the events that killed them? It's not that specific. and it's entirely possible Metaria killed him, for instance. so I though that's what you were debatting, sorry for misunderstanding, you are right its not that clear so it should therefore be removed? (I am not sure) and you are right it is not written that he jumped in and receive the blow in her place but how else could you interprete protecting you he fell, that's what I want to know. To be frank I am just plain lost. I want to know what you think that means so we come to a term, please.-- Sailorsimon, September 13, 2010

You keep adding a line about Beryl attacking Serenity and Endymion taking the blow. I keep removing it. That is the line that is unsubstantiated and does not belong. I apologize if I've been unclear (which wouldn't be surprising; right now I'm out of town and busy) but that is the point under discussion. Kerochan no Miko 23:29, 12 September 2010 (MST)
Point taken. My line was indeed an interpretation of this particular shot: 1 (beryl with a sword charging) 2 (Serenity`s Eyes in shock) and 3 (Endymion hit by a fatal blow). Plus I though that since the last shot was shown again with Queen Serenity saying Protecting you he fell it was only more proof. But you are right this is still interpretation. However do you at least agree that he fell (died) protecting her?-- Sailorsimon, September 13, 2010
Queen Serenity says that he died while protecting her, so yes, that's not something that can be argued. Kerochan no Miko 07:43, 13 September 2010 (MST)

Language Beryl uses?[edit]

In act 10 of the Sailor Moon manga, pg 173, Queen Beryl opens the door to Queen Metaria by speaking a symbol-based language. It almost looks like Hebrew or Arabic? Could someone check this out? I'm really curious as to what she is saying here. [3]

It does appear to be Hebrew characters. I know nothing about the language, but I managed to transcribe it: חורו חםורחו אחר. Now, Naoko is already bad with english, let's not even get started on Hebrew. Google Translate can't identify the middle word, so it's either a mispelling or I got the wrong character. The sentence means something akin to "open this door". G.A.S.A (talk) 18:54, 13 July 2014 (MST)

Beryl's Birthday & More[edit]

Probably something that can be added to the "Trivia" area of the page, but Beryl's birthday is seen on the Bandai USA 6" Beryl Doll as "November 1". Along with her favourite color (black), animal (scorpion), and food (liver). It would be nice if WikiMoon contained all information about characters, even random stuff like this. CorzaMoon (talk) 20:47, 23 November 2019 (EST)

Why don't you add that yourself? ^^ --210 (talk) 21:03, 23 November 2019 (EST)
I just wanted to let everyone know here first, as to not step on anyone's toes :3 CorzaMoon (talk) 22:03, 23 November 2019 (EST)
