Background

Sailor Venus first used Crescent Beam Shower in Targeted Kindergarten Kids! Venus' Great Performance against the Cardian Gigaros, who had been commanded by Ail and An to steal energy from kindergarten students on their bus rides home. Venus, in her civilian identity Minako Aino, had befriended Mie Sayama, a kindergarten student she had defended against bullies, and ended up riding on her school's bus (along with Usagi in disguise) when it was targeted by Gigaros.

During the battle against Gigaros, Venus found that her Crescent Beam attack had no effect on the Cardian, leaving her with no way to fight back. But the battle turned in the Senshi's favor when the Moonlight Knight appeared to give Venus encouragement, reminding her that she should believe in herself, as she already had "a strong ally" (the kindergarten students) who did. Finding her strength, Venus cast Crescent Beam Shower, weakening Gigaros enough for Sailor Moon to finish the Cardian off and save the children.

This attack was never used after the Makaiju Arc, but Sailor Venus did use a very similar attack in Storm of Love! Minako's Grand Two-Timing Plan.

Technique

To cast Crescent Beam Shower, Sailor Venus would collect energy in her right index finger and release it in the form of a beam, much like she would during Crescent Beam. When she released it, the beam split into multpile beams, which all shot forward toward her enemy.

Video games

Crescent Beam Shower appears in a few video games, including Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon R (Super Famicom) and Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story (Super Famicom).
