Tohru Furuya (古谷徹), also known as Noboru Sogetsu (蒼月昇), born July 31, 1953, in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, is a voice actor who played Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask/Prince Endymion/Moonlight Knight/King Endymion in the Sailor Moon anime. His other anime roles include Yamcha in Dragon Ball, Daddy the Father in One Piece, Kyosuke Kasuga in Kimagure Orange Road, Mario in the Super Mario Brothers OVAs, Amuro Ray in several series of Mobile Suit Gundam, Ribbons Almark in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Pegasus Seiya in Saint Seiya, and Hiyuuma Hoshi in Kyojin no Hoshi.
Personal Trivia
- He was at one time married to Mami Koyama, but they divorced in 1983.
- In May 2024, he confessed to having an affair with a much younger female fan and physically abusing her during their relationship; this led to his current voice roles being recast, and Bandai stated they would not bring him back for any future Gundam series.
