I'm fine with Secretss's edits but if we're talking about the anime version of the civilian character, shouldn't it be "he"?--[[User:WikiSysop|WikiSysop]] 17:04, 27 April 2007 (MST)

Revision as of 20:04, 27 April 2007

Aaron Starr was going to play him in the english who is Aaron Starr anyway (this unsigned comment left by 4.238.180.219)

Stars wasn't dubbed, so it's impossible for Seiya to have had a dub actor. Kerochan no Miko 17:54, 28 January 2007 (MST)

I completely disagree that Seiya was "childish" or acted as "comic relief," hence I removed that paragraph. SailorLeo, if you would like to provide reasons why you stated that, I'm open to having my mind changed. Kerochan no Miko 07:03, 26 April 2007 (MST)

I've admittedly been watching Sailor Moon on YouTube so I'm pretty sure I'm quite up to date. By comical relief I meant that he/she often played pranks on the girls like in Episode 183. It was highly amusing and was rather childish and even a few of the sailor girls actually stated that Seiya was childish in like... Episode 173 or 174. Other humorous episodes include 181 (Seiya & Usagi's heart-pounding date) and 184 (A night for just us, Usagi's pinch) in almost every one of those episodes I laughed like a silly little kid. I'm very glade you keep an open mind and I'm sorry to overload you with information. But please note that I added to the paragraph 'In the anime' so it was only applying to his/her behaviour in the anime whereas in the manga it might not be true. But truthfully I personally thought there wasn't much information concerning Seiya's very favourable character. SailorLeo 15:22, 26 April 2007 (MST)

I think what you're trying to say is that he was childlike and not childish - he's very definitely not the latter. And by saying that he was "comic relief" you're sticking him in the same category as, say, Umino, who exists only to make people laugh at him. That's why I completely disagreed with your assessment - while I would say that he has a childlike, almost carefree kind of attitude during the brief moments he forgets about his Important Mission, "childish" and "comic relief" just don't fit. I'd like to see you add a paragraph about Seiya's personality then if you know what he's like. If 'chilish' and 'comic relief' don't fit then change it so it does, he isn't necessarily a comic relief but his personality compared to Taiki and Yaten is considerably lighter. I still remain firm that Seiya's article needs to be stretched a little further. SailorLeo 15:36, 26 April 2007 (MST)
I agree with Kerochan about Seiya being childlike and not childish. There is a distinct difference. Technically, "comic relief" requires presence of tension. I would say that Usagi plays the role of comic relief, at least better than Seiya, as there are times when the senshi are having a solemn meeting and she would suddenly say something silly or burst out laughing while reading one of Rei's mangas. A prankster or a joker doesn't necessary provide "comic relief". Usagi is neither. I'll say Seiya is more of a joker than comic relief. -- Secretss 15:47, 26 April 2007 (MST)

Is what I've added good enough for everybody? -- Secretss 16:19, 26 April 2007 (MST)

I tweaked it slightly, since most of Seiya's personality was seen in the anime, from what I recall. And SailorLeo, I agree that most, if not all of the character articles could be "stretched," it just needs to be accurate information that's added. Kerochan no Miko 16:46, 26 April 2007 (MST)
Well I would say that Yaten and Taiki provide most of the tension and Seiya's "childlike" behaviour is often relieving. But that statement is just stupid. The problem I think is that you took my mixed up terms as "inaccurate information"... And yes your edititingness to the paragraph is fine, Secretss. SailorLeo 23:35, 26 April 2007 (MST)
If you're using the wrong words to describe something, then it is inaccurate. Kerochan no Miko 07:39, 27 April 2007 (MST)
