Ittou Asanuma is a character who appears briefly in the anime but has a larger role in the manga.

Manga

Asanuma appears in the Black Moon Clan arc of the manga as an underclassman of Mamoru's at school who strongly respects him. He is a supernatural enthusiast and a member of his school's Sci Fi club, to which he reports any UFO sightings. After he saw Mamoru heal himself and received a static shock from Makoto, he believed that the senshi were aliens, but when he asked Makoto she denied everything. When he revealed that he heard Luna talking to Usagi, Makoto confessed that she is Sailor Jupiter, admitted the identites of the others, and kissed him on the forehead. Asanuma appears again at the begining of the Death Busters arc but is never seen again after this.

Anime

In the anime Asanuma has a very brief scene in Evil Mirror Under a Curse! Mamoru in a Nightmare Trap; although he isn't named in the scene, his name appears in the credits. He calls on Mamoru at his apartment when he doesn't attend an offline meeting of the PC Network members, but after ringing his doorbell several times without getting an answer Asanuma leaves.
