An was an anime-only character, one of a pair of aliens who came to Earth on the Makaiju. She posed as a human, Natsumi Ginga (銀河夏美), while she and her companion Ail attempted to steal energy from humans to restore the ailing Makaiju.
She developed a strong dislike for Usagi Tsukino due to the fact that Ail had a crush on her. However, An herself developed a crush on Mamoru Chiba, leading to tension between the aliens.
