Mars Star Power, Make Up was the second transformation phrase that Rei Hino used to transform into Sailor Mars.

Anime[edit]
This transformation was very similar to Sailor Mars' previous one with very few differences, the main one being that the Mars symbol appeared behind her at the end of the transformation. In this transformation, Rei held up her hand as a stream of red stars swirled around it, alighting on her fingernails and turning them red. Her Star Power Stick appeared, spinning, and as she took hold of it the Mars symbol inside the star began to spin. She then turned around as streamers of fire emitted from the Stick, which finally coalesced into several rings around her body. The rings contracted and became the various pieces of her sailor fuku, and Sailor Mars assumed her finishing pose.
Sailor Moon Crystal[edit]
In the Sailor Moon Crystal version of this transformation that first appeared in Act 15, Rei held up her Star Power Stick and turned her hand as multicolored stars streamed into the star on top of the Stick, making the Mars symbol appear inside. She let go of the Stick and stars flashed on her fingernails, turning them red. White light radiated from the star on top of the Stick before Rei took hold of it again. She then held her pen over her head and began to spin around as streamers of fire emitted from it and swirled above her head. The streamers spiraled around her body and formed rings of fire around her, then the rings contracted and became the various pieces of her sailor fuku. Sailor Mars turned around, her planetary symbol glowing on her forehead before being hidden as her tiara appeared. Sailor Mars then spun on one foot and assumed her finishing pose.
Trivia[edit]
- In the anime, this was Sailor Mars' last transformation into her original sailor fuku.
- In Act 41 of the manga and in Sailor Moon Eternal, Rei attempted to transform with "Mars Star Power, Make Up" instead of her then-current phrase, "Mars Planet Power, Make Up."
