The Maenads were two priestesses of Elysion who guarded a shrine. They first appeared in Act 46, where they were shown asleep within a crystal. Helios explained that by sleeping, they were able to escape the curse that lay over the land. In Act 47, they guided Sailor Chibi Moon to Helios. Their last appearance was in Act 49, at what Artemis described as a coronation, when Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion redirected the dust from Queen Nehellenia's mirror into the fading remnants of the eclipse with their scepters, after she had been defeated.
Their only appearance in Sailor Moon Crystal was in Sailor Moon Eternal.
