Episode trivia[edit]

  • When Sailor Moon first appeared in this episode, she made a reference to Attack No. 1, a famous anime series about volleyball.
  • In the original version, Professor Tomoe told Kaolinite his favorite sport was stair-stepping. In the first English dub, he told her his favorite sport was "standing over his experiments," and in the Viz dub, he told her it was rhythmic gymnastics. In the German dub, he said it was "stepping on and off a footstool."
  • The slogan on Haikyun's headband read "必勝!" (Certain victory!), but at several points it changed, depending on the situation, to "くやしい" (Annoying), "邪悪" (Wicked), "っびっくり!!" (Frightened!!) and "負け!" (Defeat!).
  • In the first English dub, Jamie said that Mina used to live in England, which was the only instance in which the dub mentioned her time in England.
