Guardian Cosmos was the guardian of the Cosmos Crystal in the Galaxy Cauldron in the manga and Sailor Moon Crystal. Usagi encountered Guardian Cosmos after she threw herself into the Galaxy Cauldron in Act 60 and Sailor Moon Cosmos. She appeared to be quite small, only a few inches tall, and wore a sheer, beaded dress. She also carried a glowing staff.
After remarking on the brilliance and purity of Sailor Moon's Sailor Crystal, Guardian Cosmos then inquired whether Sailor Moon wished to start a new life as a new star, or to resume her old life just as she was. Usagi and her friends elected to remain as they were, and the Guardian sent them all back to Earth. As the Senshi left the Cauldron, Sailor Moon asked about Chaos, and in the manga Guardian Cosmos stated that Guardian Chaos and the Chaos Seed had reintegrated into the sea of the Cauldron, meaning that one day they could be born again.
In the manga, Guardian Cosmos also made an ambiguous statement about how another shining star had long ago visited the Cauldron, carrying the shell of a small star which had a shine similar to Sailor Moon's; along with those words images of Queen Serenity and the infant Princess Serenity were visible in the background. The visual book released along with Sailor Moon Cosmos clarified that Queen Serenity visited Guardian Cosmos, and the small star's shell she had been carrying was reborn as Usagi.
Trivia[edit]
- Her name followed the pattern of the Sailor Power Guardians' names, which led to some fans believing that she was the Guardian of Sailor Cosmos, but it was never stated in canon if that was true. Unlike the Sailor Power Guardians, she did not look like the small version of a Sailor Senshi, as she did not wear a sailor fuku.
- Just like Guardian Pluto, however, she shared a voice actress with the Senshi that had the same name as she.
- Guardian Cosmos did not mention Guardian Chaos nor the Chaos Seed in Sailor Moon Cosmos, and instead simply stated that "Chaos' core" had melted into the Galaxy Cauldron's primordial sea.
