Andy Heyward, born February 19, 1949, in New York City, was the president and CEO of DiC Entetainment. He had worked for the company since 1982, and bought it in 1985. As CEO, he was a producer on nearly every project overseen by the company, but was known to get personally involved in several of the company's more successful shows, including Inspector Gadget, Rainbow Brite, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Liberty's Kids. Heyward was not retained by Cookie Jar when they purchased DiC in 2008. He co-founded A Squared Entertainment the following year, and is currently CEO of Genius Brands International, which A Squared merged with in 2013.
