- This episode included the first appearances of Ittou Asanuma, Kotono Sarashina, the Star Power Sticks, the second set of communicators, the transformations Mercury Star Power, Make Up, Mars Star Power, Make Up, Jupiter Star Power, Make Up, and Venus Star Power, Make Up, the Moon Rod, and the attacks Burning Mandala, Shine Aqua Illusion, and Moon Princess Halation, as well as Nemesis and the Black Moon Clan.
- While "Moon Pride" was still used as the opening theme song in this season, this was the first episode in which Prince Demande, Saphir, Rubeus, Esmeraude, Wiseman, Chibiusa and Sailor Pluto were shown in the opening footage instead of the Dark Kingdom, the Moon Castle, and Queen Serenity.
