Signing Comments[edit]

I've asked you a couple times now - PLEASE sign your comments on talk pages! Kerochan no Miko 17:54, 30 April 2008 (MST)

I am. I went to the page that said how it's done and it says to add the four tildes, I copied and pasted the tildes at the end of my comments, but it doesn't seem to be working. May be it doesn't work if you just paste them, you have to type them? I'm not really familiar with the way to type that particular symbol, then. Is it by pressing the key ALT plus something?(For the record, I'm attempting to sign this comment too, don't know if it'll work though, but please don't get angry with me, you're not the only one that is finding this frustrating)CosmicUsagi 18:15, 30 April 2008 (MST)

Manga[edit]

I'm...not sure what you mean by "which version of the manga" - I have the manga. The original, untranslated, Japanese version. Kerochan no Miko 13:31, 2 May 2008 (MST)

Technically the Japanese manga is also a version, even if it's the main and official, most truthful one. You speak Japanese? For little I know you could be Japanese... I just wouldn't have thought it because I saw you in the 'Born on Earth' discussion talking about Glover's translation, and if I spoke Japanese I wouldn't bother with translations.^^ Anyway, do you know of any sites that have other translations that are not Glover's? I heard with the re-release of the manga in English there was a better, much-improved translation, and even some of the other old ones I found in some sites are in my opinion better than Glover's, but they're just fragments and not the whole thing like they have on Kurozuki. I ask this because English is not my first language, so I haven't read the manga in English, originally, thus some of the stuff people say about the English translation is different from the translation I'm used to.CosmicUsagi 14:40, 2 May 2008 (MST)
When I say "the manga" it's the manga. The others are derivative works of it, so if I meant I had, say, "the Mixx manga" I would say that.
I know some Japanese; I wouldn't say I'm fluent by any means, though. I also don't know of any extensive translations other than Alex Glover's. And I have access to the entire Mixx manga, but for the most part IMHO Glover's translation is better than it.
And I had guessed that English wasn't your first language, from some of your idiomatic usage. What is, if I may ask? Kerochan no Miko 15:15, 2 May 2008 (MST)
if I meant I had, say, "the Mixx manga" I would say that.
And then I would probably ask: "Mixx? Is that another anime?" and the confusion would never cease.^^
I know I'm not probably the best candidate to edit in a language that's not my own, but I remember the first time I found this site I hadn't even read the manga, and was hoping to find here the so-called differences that everyone said made it better than the anime. It was a bit disappointing some manga sections were empty, or just repeating almost exactly what the anime section said. So when I came back, after having read the manga, and saw those sections still empty or repetitive, I said "oh what the heck, I'll give it a try". I supposed it wouldn't be that bad because I keep up the language frecuently (I write and read SM fanfiction in English). Precisely that's why I wanted to ask for some sites with other translations, I could definitely them when writing fanfiction. Oh well, pity..CosmicUsagi 15:58, 2 May 2008 (MST)
And then I would probably ask: "Mixx? Is that another anime?" and the confusion would never cease.^^
Or, alternatively, you could type "Mixx" into the search field and read the article about it.
If we had any rules about people only being allowed to edit the wiki if English was their first languge, we'd have lost several of our users by now. I don't care if it isn't. I ruthlessly copy-edit stuff written by everyone, no matter what their first language is. :P Feel free to add manga info, just be sure to make sure it's all as accurate as possible (some of the stuff you added to the Wiseman article, for instance, wasn't, or was extrapolation; not sure if those were things it said in whatever language version you have or what, but they weren't in the original).
