I'm sorry to do such heavy cutting. We've got to be careful of spoilers on some of these pages. Let's discuss the spoilers issue in the main talk portion. For the time being we'll leave them out.

We probably want the main senshi pages to look like what Sailor Mercury is now, which is pretty much spoiler free.

Dooky pointed out that we probably don't want to worry about spoilers on the wiki, although we may want to label them. So should we revert the spoilers edit and bring back the info with a note?--WikiSysop 12:40, 16 May 2006 (MST)

Can anyone give me a translation (or at least the romaji) of the following kana script from Aino Minako's manga profile from the Moon Prism Box. 青田買い (aota kai) - Aota Purchase

Aota (青田), lit. green field, a surname.

A company name? I don't know the context, hence I've no idea if I've translated it properly.

It was just in Minako's profile as a "hobby". Hobby: Idol Chasing (????). I have no idea why those characters are there. Ah, 追っかけ can be used in the context of fans following their idols (like when an idol is scheduled to be interviewed at a radio studio, their fans will go to that studio at the scheduled date & time). --210 07:17, 12 March 2007 (MST)

I put into one of the Japanese translation pages from [1] and it came up as "recruiting of students". So the whole thing came to (with a few other translators for verification) "Hobby: Idol chasing (recruiting of students)". I guess that pretty much sums up what Minako does with her spare time. And I've also gone to the site you linked & find that 青田買い can be used in the context of companies picking brilliant undergrads for employment once they graduate (like when the field is still green). She is also the only senshi to have her own independent series and canon.

Formatting

Meh, it's 3:30 in the morning and I'm bored so, for future reference if nothing else, Venus used Love-Me Chain on Motoki in the Dark Kingdom arc, and it seemed to undue Beryl's brainwahing. I'm pretty sure that's what the note was referring to. --Sailor Biccy 00:25, 18 April 2008 (MST)

Earrings

About the «Super upgrade» during the scene of the anime in which we see Sailor Venus transform from normal to Super along with the other senshi, her earrings change from light orange to dark orange I think, I'm watching it right now it seem pretty clear that something, whatever it is, about her earrings changes. It's easier to see in a higher quality version of the video (like this one) but the earrings definitely flashed and did something during that transformation. And when you compare all of her transformation sequences (like here) it definitely looks like they were a darker orange at the end than in the previous ones. Interesting. Choker Star, Earrings, Brooch, Back Bow

Choker Star - In the manga, each senshi has a gemstone in their respective color in the middle of the star on their chokers. This can be seen in the Materials Collection Artbook in the SuperS section on the same page that features her princess gown.

Earrings - In one of those big collage images of all the characters in the manga, the one for "R" features the heads of the senshi in chibi form. Sailor Venus has red earrings in that picture.

Brooch - Her brooch is more of an orange-ish yellow.

Back Bow - In the SuperS arc, her bow extends down past her knees, but not too far down. In the anime, it only extends to somewhere around her thighs. They are long when she becomes super in that episode, but not afterward.

Just wanted to say that the colors of the Senshi jewelry and accessories change all the time from one artbook to another, or even in the same artbook. Silver 15:13, 11 March 2010 (MST)

Girdle Referrence

Hi all, just a question about the referrence to "Aphrodite's girdle" in the trivia section; should it not be a referrence to Hippolyta's girdle? The one from Heracles' ninth labour? I ask because I can't recall ever coming across a referrence to a girdle belonging to Aphrodite/Venus, but (if I recall correctly) Ares/Mars presented his daughter Hippolyta with a belt that signified her right to rule the Amazons. Are these the same item? I don't think Hippolyta's had the power to influence affection, but I'm a tad fuzzy on that myth in general. If they're not the same item, do we keep the referrence to Aphrodite's, change it, or add a mention of Hippolyta's? Aphrodite's certainly sounds more relevant to Sailor Venus. Also, forgive my ignorance, how do I sign my comments? Just type my name? Cheers, Skylight.

1) Hippolyta has nothing to do with Aphrodite/Venus, and therefore the fact that she had a girdle would have no bearing here and would not be a valid trivia note on this article. Aphrodite did have one; that's why it's relevant and thus a trivia note.

2) And yes, it's a completely different girdle. If you click the Wikipedia links in that trivia note, you will find the following information. From girdle: Aphrodite, or Venus in Roman mythology, also wore girdles associated with lechery in later poetry. From Aphrodite: Hephaestus is overjoyed to be married to the goddess of beauty, and forges her beautiful jewelry, including the cestus, a girdle that makes her even more irresistible to men..
