Do we want a fan made games section?--WikiSysop 09:48, 30 May 2006 (MST)

Yeah, we want ^_^. Must not this article to be called simply Video Games and not Sailor Moon Games? Since it is WikiMoon, it is obvious that all these games are about Sailor Moon. I was about to start writing articles about separate games, but I am wondering, how they must be titled? The case is that quite a few games have correct title Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon without any additional words (e.g., PC-Engine, S. Nintendo, Mega Drive, Game Boy). May be articles must be named after platforms and not after game titles? Anton-P 09:59, 30 May 2006 (MST)

If articles have similar names then we usually differentiate them with something afterwards in brackets... so you'd have, say, Sailor Moon (Game Boy) and Sailor Moon (Super Famicom)... and so on. Dooky 10:27, 30 May 2006 (MST)

FYI having it say Sailor Moon games is important for indexing, especially search engines and such. It may seem redundant but it's still necessary.--WikiSysop 11:26, 30 May 2006 (MST)

I understood about titles. I cannot figure out if any out of five games by Sprite Team must be listed in Sailor Moon games article. They were produced by a company and obviously sold afterwards, so they are not fan made. But still none of these games shows Bandai, Toei etc. trademark (the only trademark present in them is that by Sprite). Is it possible they were produced in Japan illegally, without licenses? Anton-P 12:00, 30 May 2006 (MST)

Quite possible, yes. I've heard of quite a few games of specific anime produced without a license and sold commercially. I'm not too sure about them not being fan-made though... after all, doujinshi are fan-made and they're sold commercially. I don't know, but I have seen games made by anime fans and then sold. How much do you know about Sprite Team?
Anyway, I think these games are certainly worth including... perhaps we could have a link to a new article about unofficial games? Dooky 01:18, 31 May 2006 (MST)
Yeah, Unofficial Video Games or something like that, as an attached but seperate category to this page, sounds good.--WikiSysop 03:44, 31 May 2006 (MST)

I created category "Unofficial Video Games" (as an analog of Category:Video Games). Then all fan-made games can be listed in this category along with games by Sprite Team. BTW, when writing an article about a certain fan-made video game must its authors be named? Anton-P 07:13, 31 May 2006 (MST)

If the game's credits list them as author then I don't see any reason not to include them. Dooky 10:00, 31 May 2006 (MST)

I'd love to see something for Another Story written. It'd make a nice front page featurette, too.--WikiSysop 01:34, 23 July 2006 (MST)

Naming conventions[edit]

Okay, I have a question about these games. In most cases, we don't include "Bishoujo Senshi" in titles... so should we include it here? At the moment we have some with the prefix "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon", some with the prefix "Sailor Moon" and some with no prefix at all. Which should we choose? dooky 08:59, 11 August 2006 (MST)

Anime seasons aren't listed with "Bishoujo Senshi", so I don't see any reason to have it in game titles. When they have the prefix "Sailor Moon" I think it should be included, though. --Rosen 10:08, 11 August 2006 (MST)

Pagename[edit]

Shouldn't the G in 'games' be lower-case? --Masamage 17:55, 15 May 2007 (MST)

(Ignore previous comment, I was thinking of something else.) And it should probably either be changed to match the pagenames of the manga and anime or kept the way it is to match the music article. Kerochan no Miko 18:01, 15 May 2007 (MST)
Since we're using upper-case in section titles under the current WikiMoon style convention, I think it should also be upper-case in page titles. --210 19:31, 15 May 2007 (MST)

Telebikko or Terebikko?[edit]

I'm not sure what spelling is correct. Most sites in internet call it terebikko. What should we do? Avocadora 04:27, 17 August 2009 (MST)

I've personally seen equal representation for "Telebikko" as for "Terebikko" and, really, I don't think it matters which one we use. Kerochan no Miko 12:35, 17 August 2009 (MST)

The Game Of Life: Sailor Moon Edition[edit]

I came across articles about the existence of a Game of Life: Sailor Moon edition. Does anyone have information about this? And if so, would it fit in the section?--Ohtori_akio 04:49, 22 January 2010 (MST)

I have no idea if it would fit or not, unless you have some information about this alleged game. Kerochan no Miko 05:56, 22 January 2010 (MST)

Codename: Sailor V[edit]

From what I can find, if this game actually existed it was fan-made and therefore doesn't belong in this article. Removed info, unless someone can prove it was an actual licensed game. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 20:48, 3 January 2017 (MST)

Kerochan no Miko, please NB that I am supervisor administrator (REALLY!!!) at Demozoo.org. Here's a source on Codename: Sailor V game li'l info. Dipswitch (talk) 23:44, 3 January 2017 (MST)
PS: The fan game is VERY similar to the original game, because the fan - game creator, KungPow, used Locked'n'Loaded's PRISM-16 original fonts and design.
I saw that website and it proves nothing about it being an official game. Again, if it's a fan-made game, it does not belong here. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 07:18, 4 January 2017 (MST)
Oh, the game released in 1991, see link to video. Why not official? Dipswitch (talk) 10:33, 4 January 2017 (MST)
Where is the proof of this alleged game being released in 1991? All you have is screenshots of a game that looks like it's an amalgam of sprites/art from other games, created by a company that, as far as I can tell, never actually existed, all jumbled together on a wiki with no source citations. There is nothing about this that says it was created by license from Toei or any other actual official company. (In other words, I could totally create a website about a game and claim it was released in 1965, but that doesn't make it true.) Kerochan no Miko (talk) 12:46, 4 January 2017 (MST)
I also note that the video you linked to shows that Sailor V is trademarked by "Kodashima Publishing". The fact that this game didn't even have the publisher's name correct (not to mention that Kodansha didn't publish any volumes of Sailor V until 1993, in 1991 it was still just in RunRun) is a pretty clear indication that it's a knockoff fan game. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 14:33, 4 January 2017 (MST)
The developer did an error. But in the final version of game it's corrected. The Japanese version of Sailor V is released in 1991 (Vol 1). We're know our pappenheims. Dipswitch (talk) 02:09, 5 January 2017 (MST)
Also, see the link in Wikipedia (rus). Nazdar! Dipswitch (talk) 02:13, 5 January 2017 (MST)
Incorrect, the first compiled Sailor V volume was published by Kodansha on December 18, 1993; previous to that it was simply serialized in RunRun. And I repeat, anyone can put information on a website or wiki, no matter how true it is - the fact that you added a reference to a Wikipedia article means nothing. You still have yet to give any actual proof. (And what on earth is a "pappenheim"?) Kerochan no Miko (talk) 08:23, 5 January 2017 (MST)
Oh! Locked'n'Loaded was released in 1991, the developer didn't changed the date. I'll now go find another source page, OK? Pappenheimers: Google it, that's from "The adventure of the good soldier Švejk" (Wir erkennen uns're pappenheimer!). Dipswitch (talk) 09:10, 5 January 2017 (MST)
Given that this has every hallmark of a fan-made game, I already added it to the Unofficial Sailor Moon Games article and I consider this discussion complete. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 12:46, 5 January 2017 (MST)
No, that's NOT good idea, to put it into unofficial/fan-games! There's only one way to fix the problem: I'll just find more info bout that game, and it's gone! Just wait a li'l! Also, nazdar! Dipswitch (talk) 13:03, 5 January 2017 (MST)
It's a fan game. No matter how many wiki articles you create, it will be a fan game. Therefore it goes with the fan games. Period. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 14:31, 5 January 2017 (MST)
I am not talking about Wiki articles, but about some web pages. STOP (telegraphic - styled period). Dipswitch (talk) 23:55, 5 January 2017 (MST)
I've discovered with disgust today that someone has been impersonating me here back in 2017. I have neither interest in this game nor in Sailormoon whatsoever, but I am the actual demoscener Dipswitch of the demozoo.org team, and just want to leave it here for the record that I have absolutely nothing to do with the person above. --89.217.0.158 16:58, 25 May 2023 (EDT)

Recent Edits of Attack and Character Articles[edit]

Concerning my recent edits of some of the game-related articles: I turned all the "Sailor Moon (insert system)"/"Sailor Moon S (insert system)"/etc links in the infoboxes into pipe links because most of the game attack/character articles use those instead of specifying the system, so I changed that for consistency. PrinceEarth (talk) 14:49, 24 March 2022 (EDT)

I would suggest that, in the future, if you want to make a change to how articles are styled, you bring it up on a talk page before doing so. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 22:12, 24 March 2022 (EDT)
Oh... Sorry for that. Next time I'll do that beforehand. PrinceEarth (talk) 15:23, 2 April 2022 (EDT)
