:The definition of 'metaseries' given there would probably encompass all versions and continuities of Sailor Moon, not just the anime. Even so, the anime seasons are not different enough from each other to be considered separate stories. Villains change, but the core characters remain the same. I understand that Stars could conceivably be considered separate (Toei list it separately from the other four seasons, but I've always suspected this was for production reasons.)

:'Season' is an Americanism in this context, certainly (it's almost never used in Britain), but the five seasons of Sailor Moon fit the American definition of 'season' perfectly. I'm not surprised they don't call it a 'season' in Japan, being Japanese and all, but whatever they ''do'' call it, I would imagine 'season' to be the most logical translation. I haven't seen either Dreaming Moon or Wonderful World of Sailor Moon S. Do they contain any new footage or are they just clip show-type affairs? Dooky 12:16, 17 May 2006 (MST)

There is no concept of a "season" in Japanese television. The Sailor Moon anime is actually five separate *series*, grouped together into a single "metaseries". DENelson83 16:48, 11 June 2006 (MST)

The definition of 'metaseries' given there would probably encompass all versions and continuities of Sailor Moon, not just the anime. Even so, the anime seasons are not different enough from each other to be considered separate stories. Villains change, but the core characters remain the same. I understand that Stars could conceivably be considered separate (Toei list it separately from the other four seasons, but I've always suspected this was for production reasons.)
