The magazine issue shown at the end of the episode displays the girl's name as 馬場ナナ子. Is 馬場 supposed to be her family name? I think I've seen these kanji used as a family name before... --YnK 05:14, 5 August 2011 (MST)

Yes. --210 06:28, 5 August 2011 (MST)

If her full name is 馬場ナナ子 then the article needs to be moved accordingly, but... "Baba Nanako"? Is that really a name? Kerochan no Miko 17:35, 4 June 2012 (MST)

Unfortunately, yes. There exist real people with that family name. In any case, we probably can't get around the fact that her full name is shown in the episode itself and is mentioned on the back cover of the LD that contains this episode. I only wish any of those had furigana on it... though I really can't see how it can be read as something other than "Baba". --YnK 00:45, 5 June 2012 (MST)
Theoretically there're alternative pronunciations for those two kanji, of course, but when they're used in a surname, in most, if not all, cases it's pronounced as "baba." --210 01:46, 5 June 2012 (MST)
Well, okay then. Propose that the article be moved to Nanako Baba. Kerochan no Miko 06:34, 5 June 2012 (MST)
We can also pronounce it "Umaba" and "Haba" for example... those are also name readings. When you say "baba" is the only way, you mean it is the only way we can read it as a regular word, it means "horse-riding grounds". However there are many ways of reading this as a family name in Japanese. Umaba is probably most common. Baba is not quite so common because it mixes on and kun readings. Yes, it mixes those two ways of reading kanji, but AFAIK it's still the more common reading as a family name.--210 (talk) 02:28, 14 November 2013 (MST)

What is the source for the Julie Lemieux credit? Kerochan no Miko (talk) 21:34, 19 December 2020 (EST)
