I don't think D Point is at the North Pole. Although I have no canon evidence to prove it, I usually think of D Point as being at 80°N, and at the same longitude as Tokyo. -- DENelson83 20:48, 16 November 2006 (MST)

In the dub I think they say the North Pole, but I am not sure about the original anime. I would have to rewatch it. In the MIXX manga, it says the 72°N Lat is Point C, and Mercury says the Point D is the middle of the Arctic Sea. Anyone know what the original Japanese says or where the middle of the Arctic Sea is?  :P--Sakky 21:02, 16 November 2006 (MST)
PS, the map of the Earth shown in the manga does make it look like it's the North Pole. Plus, earlier in the MIXX manga, when Beryl recounts how she stumbled upon the ruins of the Dark Kingdom she says she was at the North Pole. Once again, this is MIXX so anyone that has the original should Double check. --Sakky 21:05, 16 November 2006 (MST)
It is in the North Pole. There's proof in the manga, and we did some intense map stuff for WoL 2 to the extent where we figured out the exact latitude/longitudes as shown in the anime.--WikiSysop 21:53, 16 November 2006 (MST)
I know it's been a while since this was discussed, but I wanted to back this up and add that in episode 44, Artemis actually says that when they come out of the tunnel leading to the Dark Kingdom, they are at the North Pole. BettyAnn 01:20, 16 February 2008 (MST)
In episode 44, Luna refers to it as "Hokkyoku no D Point" (北極のDポイント - as seen in the Anime Book Vol.10). Hokkyoku can mean North Pole or Arctic. In the Viz release, they translated it as "Point D in the Arctic Circle" (but the English dub Luna says "D-Point in the Arctic Circle"). The North Pole is a specific spot, whereas the Arctic Circle is a general area of where the Dark Kingdom is situated. Using the term Arctic Circle instead of North Pole. Also a notes post that the Viz subs called it Point D
