Sailor Chibi Moon is the ninth senshi introduced in the series. She comes from the future, 30th Century Crystal Tokyo, and has returned to 20th century Tokyo for training. Her real name is Usagi, but to differentiate her from Sailor Moon's Usagi Tsukino, people call her Chibiusa. (<i>Chibi</i> means small, <i>usa</i> is short for Usagi.) In Crystal Tokyo she also goes by the name Princess Small Lady and in the English language dub she was called Rini.
+
* Sailor Chibi Moon - In the S season, she had a heart-shaped insignia on her choker and also had her transformation brooch in the center of her front bow. Her dominant color was pink (collar, skirt, boots, gloves, and choker) and her accent color was red (bows). Her boots were knee-high pink with a white border at the triangular top. The gem in her tiara was red. Her collar had two white stripes. Her earrings were simple pink studs. She wore two white-bordered red circular accents on her odango, with pointed white fittings resembling a rabbit's ears. In episode 111 she gained two wing-like barrettes in her hair when Sailor Moon obtained the Holy Grail. Sailor Chibi Moon's shoulder and elbow pads were unique, in that they only had two bars instead of three.

She is the daughter of Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion, the future versions of Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba respectively. She has a guardian device called Luna P and owns a grey kitten named Diana who is the daughter of moon cats Luna and Artemis.
+
* Super Sailor Chibi Moon - In the SuperS season, her fuku almost completely changed, in many of the same aspects as those of Sailor Moon. She was then known as Super Sailor Chibi Moon. The gem on her tiara was replaced by a yellow crescent moon. She still wore her barrettes. Her choker became yellow with a red heart. The stripes on her collar were yellow. Her shoulder pads were translucent and shaped more wing-like. The back waist bow was long, white, and billowy. She gained crescent moon insignias on her boots. The top of her skirt was adorned with a yellow belt and duplicate heart-shaped brooch, and the most obvious change by far was that her skirt was no longer pink, but was instead white with a yellow and pink border at the bottom.

Transformations
 +
* Moon Prism Power, Make Up - Used the power of the future Silver Crystal to transform into Sailor Chibi Moon.

When she first arrives in the anime continuity she is around 6 years old, while in the manga continuity she is chronologically over 900 (but still mentally and physically 6 years old). The latter ageing is due to the power of the Silver Crystal.
+
* Crisis, Make Up - Used the power of the Holy Grail to transform into Super Sailor Chibi Moon.

She and her mother Sailor Moon are referred to as the Double Moon, and sometimes referred to by fans as the Princess senshi, to differentiate their alignment from the inner senshi and outer senshi, although Sailor Moon is associated with the inners and Chibi Moon often paired with the outers.
+
* Moon Crisis, Make Up - Used the combined power of the Chibi Moon Compact and the Holy Grail to transform into Super Sailor Chibi Moon.

Attacks and Powers
* Luna P henge [object] - Chibiusa uses the ball-like device that looks like Luna, Luna P. She bounces Luna P, and Luna P transforms into the object she states.
+
* Abracadabra Pon - Sailor Chibi Moon transformed Luna P into an object. (She could also use this while untransformed.)
* Pink Sugar Heart Attack - Chibiusa uses the Pink Moon Stick to send pink hearts at an enemy. This is a relatively weak attack that is often more annoying to the enemy than it is painful.

* Twinkle Yell - Chibiusa uses the Crystal Carillon to call forth Pegasus.

Chibiusa also has the power to send a column of extreme energy from the crescent moon insignia that can appear on her forehead. She tends to do this when she is alarmed, and the column is visible from a distance.
+
* Moon Princess Halation - Sailor Chibi Moon performed this attack using Neo-Queen Serenity's Cutie Moon Rod, together with Sailor Moon, when they fought the Death Phantom.

* Twinkle Yell - Super Sailor Chibi Moon used the Crystal Carillon to call Helios.
Chibiusa first came into the continuity as a six year old looking to save her mother in the Sailor Moon R series. She did not have any powers at the time, but she did hold the Key of Space-Time, given to her by Sailor Pluto, which allowed her to go back into the past.
+

 +
* Moon Gorgeous Meditation - Super Sailor Chibi Moon attacked using her Chibi Moon Kaleidoscope.
 +

* Submarine Mirror - Sailor Chibi Moon used Sailor Neptune's Deep Aqua Mirror to transport herself to Sailor Neptune's location.

* Pink Lady's Freezing Kiss - Sailor Chibi Moon attacked together with the Sailor Quartet.
 +

 +
Costume
 +
* Sailor Chibi Moon - Her manga uniform was identical with her anime one (see above), except that she had the barrettes in her hair from her first appearance and the front of her choker was a crescent moon. The front of her choker changed to a pink heart in the Infinity arc.
 +

 +
* Super Sailor Chibi Moon - Her collar was pink in the front and yellow in the back, with the colors blending into each other over her shoulders. Along the bottom of her skirt was a colored section that transitioned from yellow to red at the edges.

In the Black Moon saga portion of the series, Chibiusa is aged by Wiseman into a woman in her teens or 20s called Black Lady, who is brainwashed by Wiseman to fight Sailor Moon. She later returns to her normal age, saves her mother, and goes back to the future.
+
* "Eternal" Sailor Chibi Moon - Her tiara gem changed into a pink five-pointed star. Her shoulder pads were translucent pink puffs with two pink patches of fabric attached to them. The length of her gloves extended to her upper arms. In artbook illustrations, she had pink V-shaped wristbands with golden five-pointed stars on them, but they were not present in the manga.  Her brooch was shaped like a pink five-pointed star. Her belt consisted of two pink ribbons, one pink and one light pink, with two long, thin back ribbons clipped together by a golden five-pointed star. Her back bow was light pink. Her skirt had two layers - one of them was the same color as her standard uniform, and the other was a lighter shade of pink. Her boots were knee-high and white, and each had a V-shaped pink border at the top, with a golden star attached to the center of it. Her earrings were pink dangling five-pointed stars. She was not called Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon in any official documents, and it was never revealed if this form had a unique title like her Super form did.

However, she returns again in the Sailor Moon S arc, to fight alongside Sailor Moon as Sailor Chibi Moon. Her mother sent her back both to train her as a senshi, and so that she could "make important acquaintances." (This is likely referring to her friendship with Hotaru Tomoe.) She notes this background in her introduction dialogue, where she often states that she is a senshi "in training" who fights in the name of the "Future Moon" rather than just "the Moon."

Transformations
* Moon Prism Power, Make Up - Used the power of the future Silver Crystal to transform into Sailor Chibi Moon.

She remained as a regular cast member until Queen Nehellenia was cleansed in the fifth (anime) series, when she returns to Crystal Tokyo.
+
Attacks and Powers
 +
* Abracadabra Pon - Sailor Chibi Moon transformed Luna P into an object. (She could also use this while untransformed.)

In the manga, she returns again along with her team, the Amazon Quartet, to rescue Eternal Sailor Moon, Chibi Chibi and Princess Kakyuu. She returns to her normal timeline, after the battle with Chaos. At Usagi and Mamoru's wedding some time later, Usagi informs her husband that their own timeline's Chibiusa is already on the way.
+
* Moon Princess Halation - Sailor Chibi Moon performed this attack using Neo-Queen Serenity's Cutie Moon Rod, together with Sailor Moon, when they fought Death Phantom.

Parallel Sailor Moon
+
* Pink Sugar Heart Attack - Sailor Chibi Moon used the Pink Moon Stick to attack.
In the alternate universe story "Parallel Sailor Moon", which takes place 15 years after the end of Sailor Moon Stars, Chibiusa is seen on her way to cram school with Hotaru. This Chibiusa is only 15 years old (instead of over 900) and she dreams of becoming a bureaucrat. Like her father, she now wears glasses, and she takes turns with her younger sister Kousagi in their duty to breed rabbits. Chibiusa nicknames her sister "Chibi". This version of Chibiusa still bickers with Usagi.

Family
+
* Rainbow Double Moon Heartache - Super Sailor Chibi Moon and Super Sailor Moon attacked using the combined power of the Pink Moon Stick and the Spiral Heart Moon Rod.

Chibiusa's parents are the Queen and King of Crystal Tokyo, Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion.
+
Costume
 +
* Her costume was similar to the manga version.

In Sailor Moon R, she goes back to 20th Century Tokyo to find the Silver Crystal, which she believes will save her mother. Neo Queen Serenity was encased in a crystal coffin following an attack upon Crystal Tokyo by the leaders of the planet Nemesis.

In the musicals, Sailor Chibi Moon was played by Ai Miyakawa, Mao Kawasaki, Natsumi Takenaka, Tamaki Dia Shirai, Ayano Gunji, Arisu Izawa, Kasumi Takabatake, Noel Miyazaki, Aisha Yamamoto, Nanami Ohta, Mao Ohno, Mina Horita, Moe Oosaki, Kokoro Kuge, and Airi Kanda. She had one image song, "Pinky Typhoon."

In "Parallel Sailor Moon", she has a younger sister, Kousagi, who is also a Senshi.
+
Costume
 +
Sailor Chibi Moon's costume had two different version in the musicals:
 +

 +
* Sailor Chibi Moon - Sailor Chibi Moon's collar and sleeves were pink, while her bows and glove fittings were red. The brooch in the center of the front bow was a red heart similar to Sailor Moon's Cosmic Heart Compact.  Her skirt had two layers, the top pink and the bottom red. Her boots were pink with gold tops. Her choker was pink with gold bands and a gold crescent moon in the center, and she had gold star earrings. Unlike the anime and manga, her tiara gem was pink instead of red. Her odango covers were a sparkling red with silver points at the top. All the trim, as well as the stripes on her collar, was gold. This version was never seen after Sailor Moon S - Henshin - Super Senshi e no Michi (Kaiteiban).
 +
 +
* Super Sailor Chibi Moon - Super Sailor Chibi Moon's costume resembled her counterpart from the anime and manga. Her front bow was red with a brooch in the center, similar in design to the Chibi Moon Compact, and a similar brooch was also worn on her belt. Her glove fittings and boots were pink. There were crescent moons on the tops of her boots. Her choker was silver with gold bands and had a heart in the center. Her sleeves and back bow were silver. Her skirt had three layers, the top being silver, the middle gold, and the bottom pink. Her tiara remained the same. She had wing-like barrettes and red odango covers in her hair.

Her grandparents are Ikuko and Kenji Tsukino, and she loves to play with her uncle, Shingo.

Powers
 +
In the video games in which she appeared, Sailor Chibi Moon used the powers standard to her appearances in other versions of canon, but the following are powers unique only to the video games.

Costume
+
Attacks
*Sailor Chibi Moon's (S) has crescent moon insignias at the tops of her boots. She has a heart-shaped insignia on her choker, and also has her transformation brooch in the centre of her sailor bow. Her dominant colour is pink (collar, skirt, boots, gloves and choker) and her accent colour is red (bows). Her boots are knee-high pink with a white border at the triangular top. The gem in her tiara is red. Her collar has two white stripes. Her earrings are simple pink studs. Finally, she wears two white-bordered red circular accents on her odango, with pointed white fittings resembling a rabbit's ears.
+
* Luna P Attack - Used in Sailor Moon S: Jougai Rantou!? Shuyaku Soudatsusen and Sailor Moon SuperS: Zenin Sanka!! Shuyaku Soudatsusen.
*In the SuperS season, her fuku has almost completely changed. She is now known as Super Sailor Chibi Moon. In her front hair are two wing-like barrettes. Her choker has become yellow with a red heart. The stripes on her collar are now yellow. Her shoulder pads are now translucent and shaped more wing-like. The back waist bow is now long, white, and billowy. The top of her skirt is now adorned with a yellow belt and duplicate heart-shaped brooch, and the most obvious change by far is that her skirt is no longer pink but now white with a yellow and pink border at the bottom.

Trivia
+
* Swinging Marshmallow - Used in Sailor Moon S: Jougai Rantou!? Shuyaku Soudatsusen and Sailor Moon SuperS: Zenin Sanka!! Shuyaku Soudatsusen.

* Chibiusa was one of the most popular characters among Japanese fans, especially the younger ones.
+
* Pink Sugar Heartache - Used in Sailor Moon: Another Story.
* The song Rini sings in the dub episode Trouble Comes Thundering Down, (Rain or Shine, I'm Happiest, When I'm with Tuxedo Mask) is sung to the tune of This Old Man. Chibiusa sings to the tune of a similar children's song in the Japanese version of that scene.

* While Chibiusa does not appear in the live action series, in the Special Act, it is implied that Usagi is pregnant.

* Chibiusa's odango gives an impression of a rabbit's ears. This, together with her red eyes, pink hair and pink Sailor fuku, makes her like a pink rabbit.

Costume

Sailor Chibi Moon's costume had two different version in the musicals:

 • Sailor Chibi Moon - Sailor Chibi Moon's collar and sleeves were pink, while her bows and glove fittings were red.
 • Super Sailor Chibi Moon - Super Sailor Chibi Moon's costume resembled her counterpart from the anime and manga.
