Hina Kusaka was a Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon-only character. She was the daughter of Mamoru Chiba's benefactor and had grown up with Mamoru. The two of them were engaged to be married, and also had plans to go to study together in London.

Hina was a very kind girl, and because of this, Usagi could not feel jealous of her. Hina realized what was happening between Usagi and Mamoru, but she never said a word. She was seen for the last time in the TV series in Act 26. She decided to stay in Japan, so Mamoru went to London alone. The farewell scene was her way to break up with him, and also, to leave him free of any compromise.

Hina later reappeared in one of the two mini dramas on the Act Zero DVD, which showed her life after her break up with Mamoru. She had become an actress working on a TV drama called "Phantom Thief Tuxedo Knight," where the title character strongly resembled Tuxedo Mask. Hina also had a crush on the actor who played Tuxedo Knight.

Trivia

  • Both of the Japanese kanji characters of "Hi" (陽) in her first name and "Kusa" (日) in her family name mean "sun." In contrast to this, Usagi's family name includes "Tsuki" (月), which means "moon," and "Chi" (地) in Mamoru's family name means "Earth."
