Theme song
Theme songs are songs which play during the opening and ending sequences of individual episodes of a television show. For the first four seasons of the Sailor Moon anime, the opening song was "Moonlight Densetsu," but the ending songs changed several times. The live-action series had only one opening song, and no ending songs except in the Final Act and Special Act.
In the Sailor Moon musicals, each musical or musical story arc had a particular song that served as the "theme" of that musical, but those songs (most of which were battle songs) were not used in the same sense as the songs listed here.
