Talk:Naoko Takeuchi
With regards to her recent dispute with Toei over the rights to Sailor Moon which left all 4 seasons and the manga dipping back into unlicensed territory, has there been any recent news? Or is it still the status quo? --DoddyUK 18:29, 29 August 2006 (MST)
- As far as I was aware there was no dispute, that was just a rumour. dooky 19:26, 29 August 2006 (MST)
- Well, over here one of the country's largest publishing houses keeps citing it (in mail and on their webpage) as the reason for them not getting a license to publish the manga - or even pictures from it for an article. --Rosen 22:22, 29 August 2006 (MST)
- That's interesting... although as far as I'm aware, the reprints of the manga are still on sale in Japan, and the DVDs of the anime finished coming out just recently. If there was a dispute of this kind, it would equally effect (if not even more so) the distribution within Japan, which is the biggest market. dooky 23:14, 29 August 2006 (MST)
- Ah - I'm being unclear here, sorry. They refer to a dispute specifically over international licenses, which have supposedly been frozen by Kodansha until further notice. (Toei has not been mentioned.) It all came up in February 2004, though, so it does begin to seem a rather long time for such a dispute to drag on... --Rosen 02:20, 30 August 2006 (MST)
- Yeah, my bad. It is Kodansha, not Toei. I got confused since the Anime licenses have dried up, apart from the dub in the UK (distributed by MVM). DoddyUK 16:14, 6 September 2006 (MST)
- Now it's frozen in Japan as well.

^ Would you elaborate? --210 06:55, 7 February 2007 (MST)
- The Shinsouban is still being released at my local Kunikuniya, so I doubt it. What happened is what happens with all manga in Japan--when it gets old they stop shelving it. So the older tankouban volumes won't continue being released.--Hitsuji Kinno 11:03, 12 July 2007 (MST)
- There could be a mini pocket-size "classic" edition (most likely by another publisher) in the future if Sailor Moon is deemed to be a classic then, just like some 60s/70s classic manga. If so, it won't happen in the near future, tho. --210 20:52, 12 July 2007 (MST)
PQ Angels[edit]
The bit about Naoko leaving Kodansha because of an issue over PQ Angels only has as its reference someone's personal website. Can we get a real reference to back this up? Kerochan no Miko 12:57, 12 July 2007 (MST)
