If I were to translate this song, would I also translate the French (L'Amour D'Amour)? It doesn't in that slightly suspicious translation of La Soldier though Cartwheelingfiesta 02:51, 25 March 2011 (MST)

I'm a little divided on that one - on the one hand I'd like to keep it in French (and keep "les etoiles" in Orleans no Sei Senshi) because there was a clear delineation between the "normal" and the "foreign" words in the original lyrics, but on the other a translation is a translation. I'm inclined to say keep the French in the translation and put a trivia note saying what they mean, but I could go either way. Kerochan no Miko 03:01, 25 March 2011 (MST)
Hmm... how about words in written out in roman letters like MON AMOUR C'EST BIEN in Moment Fatal to be kept as they are but to translate ones spelt in katakana like ラ リュミエール (La Lumiere) in Orleans no Sei Senshi? Cartwheelingfiesta 03:04, 25 March 2011 (MST)
I think we should pick one way and stick with it, honestly... whether it's in roman letters or kana it's still obviously a French word, so. Kerochan no Miko 16:48, 25 March 2011 (MST)
well since its an "English translation" rather than just a translation. Its probably best to translate it all into English and remark in trivia notes: the like "La Lumiere" is French for the "the light". Cartwheelingfiesta 17:49, 25 March 2011 (MST)
I know that it should be an "English" translation but at the same time do we want to go for exact word-for-word or get the "feel" of the song? If the latter (which I'm leaning toward) I think we should keep the French words as French because they were clearly intended to be "different" given that they're in another language and then footnote the English translations of the French words. I think thats probably best. Now that I'm looking at other non-english words "Sabao Spray" for example isnt translated into english. Best to translate the French in a footnote. Besides "The Love of the Love Moonlight" sounds ... awful in English XD Cartwheelingfiesta 20:37, 27 March 2011 (MST)
Yes, it... really does. :/ Kerochan no Miko 22:39, 27 March 2011 (MST)

Propose change to "L'amour D'amour Moonlight" ... The title is in katakana, the lyrics show the A as not being capitalized... What do people think? Cartwheelingfiesta 21:09, 30 March 2011 (MST)
