Shokujo was a character who appeared in a side story in the Sailor Moon manga. She was the personification of the star Orihime, and according to the story associated with the Tanabata festival, she and her husband, Kengyu, or Hikoboshi, were separated and only able to see each other on the seventh day of July.

Despite the fact that Ami and Rei insisted that the story was only a legend, Shokujo appeared at Ichinohashi Park, dressed as a false Sailor Moon in an attempt to convince the girls there that they did not need a man. When Chibiusa revealed her deception, Shokujo burst into tears, saying that her husband had been avoiding her because she was fat and plain. As it turned out, two of the other Weaver stars, Epsilon and Zeta, had been encouraging that belief because they wanted to steal the energy of Shokujo and the other girls in the park. After Chibiusa destroyed the pair and freed those under their influence, Kengyu arrived and assured his wife that he loved her.
