Sailor Moon in Azerbaijan refers to Sailor Moon series translated into Azerbaijani which aired in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani title of the series was Ay Savaşçısı (Moon Warrior), similar to the Turkish dub.

Translation and Channels[edit]

The anime started airing in Azerbaijan on Region TV (now ARB) every Saturday between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. As is common in Azerbaijan, it was not a full lip-synced dub but a voiceover, similar to the Russian dub. The first three seasons were aired in 2008, and the fourth and fifth seasons aired in 2009.

In April 2016, ARB Günəş started rebroadcasting the entire series every day at 8:30 p.m.

Censorship and Changes[edit]

  • All next episode previews were removed.
  • Ami's dream from episode 151 was completely removed, along with her new transformation sequence.

Character names were adjusted to follow the Azerbaijani spelling system, while Senshi names were translated as "Warrior [planet name]," so that Sailor Mercury became "Merkur Savaşçısı," Sailor Uranus "Uran Savaşçısı," and so on.
