Category talk:Attack
Why is this category called Special attack? At the moment, it seems more or less every attack is here, so what is so special about them? Also, the cateogry description says "Special attacks performed by the senshi", but Starlight Attack wasn't performed by a senshi. Should we put that article into another category, or change the category description? Elanorea 07:53, 14 July 2006 (MST)
- I'm inclined to agree, really. Even more bizarre is 'special transformations'. As opposed to what? There is perhaps a small number of 'attacks' that are entirely non-magical, such as 'Niagara Attack' (Rei and Chibiusa's splashing of Usagi in episode 67), but I'm not sure this is enough to merit such a separation. The category should probably be changed to 'Senshi attacks' or something similar. Dooky 08:23, 14 July 2006 (MST)
- Ah, sorry, I added Starlight Attack to this category without having read the category page. As for the name, sure. Maybe we could have a large, all-encompassing Attack category and, within that, more specific ones (Senshi Attack, Villain Attack, Group Attack, etc.)? Sort of like People, which has Civilians, Affiliates of factions, etc. --Phibby 08:30, 14 July 2006 (MST)
- I kinda like that idea. Elanorea 08:37, 14 July 2006 (MST)
- Yeah, sounds good, although we'd have to ponder attacks that can be performed by untransformed Senshi, like Akuryo Taisan. To give you some idea of the potential size of the categories, have a look at the list on my site (click on 'Magic'). First column is Senshi attacks, second is villains/misc, and the third is non-attack magic. It only covers the first three seasons of the anime at the moment, but you'd be surprised at the number of named attacks when you include monsters of the day. Dooky 08:44, 14 July 2006 (MST)
- Categorization/classification is a big subject, tho we're lucky (in this respect) that all official Sailormoon incarnations have come to an end, giving us a static state to ponder about it. And Phibby's idea is a good direction. 210 19:00, 14 July 2006 (MST)
- So how about we change this category to "Attacks" and then create appropriate subcategories? Elanorea 17:10, 15 July 2006 (MST)
- Seems reasonable, but unfortunately category pages can't be moved as such. We'll have to go to each page here and change the category links individually. Dooky 17:46, 15 July 2006 (MST)

^ So I guess we don't have a global edit facility here, not to mention bot-like edit programming. That's inconvenient tho good for security. 210 18:48, 15 July 2006 (MST)
Delete??[edit]
This category is empty. Should it be deleted? --Purplefeltangel 07:24, 10 August 2006 (MST)
- Uh... empty? I'm not sure what you mean. There's tons of stuff on the category page. dooky 07:27, 10 August 2006 (MST)
- Oh, whoa. The category talk for Category: Special attack redirects here. I meant that page, anyway. --Purplefeltangel 08:02, 10 August 2006 (MST)
- Ah, gotcha. There was some talk of a vague distinction between Attack and Special Attack, but I think the consensus was that we don't need both. I'll blitz Special Attack. dooky 08:08, 10 August 2006 (MST)
