A mysterious circus tent appears during a solar eclipse, bringing new enemies, as a Pegasus appears to Chibiusa and asks for her help.

Summary[edit]

The Inner Senshi are all happy that they made it into the same high school and talk about what clubs they want to join. They bid farewell to Chibiusa, who is headed back to Crystal Tokyo, and she leaves with Usagi and Mamoru for the park.

When they arrive at the park, they find a crowd gathered there to watch a rare solar eclipse. As they watch the event, though, Usagi and Chibiusa see a white Pegasus who asks for their help, then disappears. When they exclaim over it, Mamoru says that he also saw it for just a moment.

Elsewhere, the other girls watch the eclipse and discuss their dreams for the future.

During the eclipse, Mamoru feels a sudden twinge of pain and wonders what this foreboding could be. He, Usagi, and Chibiusa see a strange floating vessel suddenly appear in the sky, from which emerges a song about the Dead Moon Circus. The other girls see it as well and hurry for the park to find the others.

They decided that with such crowds, it will be impossible for Chibiusa to return home at the moment, so Mamoru, Usagi, and Chibiusa visit the shopping district. There they find a small festival celebrating the newly-arrived Dead Moon Circus, and Mamoru buys Chibiusa and Usagi glass kaleidoscopes. After their shopping, there are still so many people around that Chibiusa decides to stay overnight and return home the next day, and the three of them go to Mamoru's apartment for the night. Getting ready for bed, Usagi is jealous of Chibiusa's life of less responsibility and wishes she were a kid again. Chibiusa is similarly jealous of Usagi being grown up and in an adult's body, wishing she were that way herself. As they fall asleep, Chibiusa mentions an old story about how you can't look into the mirror on the night of the new moon, because you'll be drawn into the dark world on the other side.

Inside the circus tent, Zirconia observes to Zircon that she prefers the calm night to the daylight. She then instructs the four young girls known as the Amazoness Quartet to begin their plan.

During the night, the Pegasus, Helios, comes to Chibiusa in her dreams and lets her ride on his back above the city. He then gives her a small bell that will allow her to call him, saying that he needs her help to find the Golden Crystal and save Elysion. When she wakes she finds the bell still next to her. The next morning, she leaves Mamoru's apartment to journey back to Crystal Tokyo by herself. When Mamoru and Usagi wake up they discover that they both had the same dream of Chibiusa with the Pegasus, and Usagi is worried because Mamoru seems to get getting ill.

Chibiusa goes to the park to return home, but finds the Key of Space-Time does not work. The Pegasus appears to her again and asks for her help.

The girls of the Amazoness Quartet sense his appearance and send their tiger after him.

Chibiusa tells everyone about the Pegasus and what he told her, and they wonder about the time key not working. They hear a commotion outside, and find Motoki and Unazuki, who tell them about an escaped tiger. Mamoru suddenly feels the pain in his chest again, and Usagi and Chibiusa find that they cannot transform - the power of the Holy Grail is broken without all nine of the Sailor Senshi together.

But then, deep within themselves, they feel a new power and are able to transform. The Quartet arrive and attack them, and Sailor Chibi Moon takes out her bell and summons Helios using Twinkle Yell. He takes their kaleidoscopes and transforms them into weapons, giving the two Senshi a new attack. They use these new powers to destroy the Lemures, incarnate nightmares, set upon them by the Quartet. When the new enemies disappear, though, Mamoru collapses to the ground in pain.

When the Quartet return to the circus tent, Zirconia chides them for their failure, saying that Queen Nehellenia is unhappy with them. The Quartet complain about Zirconia in private, then use their magical gems to turn their tiger, hawk, and fish into the human forms of Tiger's Eye, Hawk's Eye, and Fisheye. After being ordered by the Quartet to show humans the power of the Dead Moon Circus, the three disappear.

PallaPalla observes Usagi and Chibiusa as the two rush to Mamoru, and says she will grant their dreams. Using her ball, she reverses the girls' physical ages as they transform back into their civilian forms.
